About

Through years of corporate marketing and k-12 academic planning, I’ve strengthened my research, writing, and project management skills that now bring proven results to the college process. My past students have earned admissions to a range of in-state and private colleges that best fit their academic, social, and financial needs. I collaborate with my students to identify their criteria, find match colleges, and develop a strategic plan that produces compelling applications, delivered on time.

I earned my certification through the UCLA College Counseling program, awarded with distinction. Ongoing education through conferences, webinars, and college visits keeps me up-to-date on changing college admissions. And as a selected member of IECA and WACAC professional associations, I have committed to the highest standards in college counseling ethics and conduct.

My childhood was spent in the Midwest, followed by twenty years in the Northeast, eight years in the Pacific Northwest, four years on the West Coast, and I now reside in the Southwest. These diverse experiences and geographies have expanded my awareness of each region’s unique educational opportunities and added insight for students seeking college close to home or an adventure far away.

In my downtime, I enjoy hiking, reading, and exploring new places with my husband. Our two children currently attend college. Their journey has given me a parent’s perspective of the college admissions process, contributing to my empathy and compassion while working with teenagers and their parents.

“Jodie was recommended to us by our friend who was a former client of Jodie’s. With Jodie’s help, applying for colleges was a much easier activity for my family. Organizational skill as well as flexibility were very important to me, in addition to communication, depth of subject knowledge and availability. Jodie certainly showed all of the above and more. Applying for colleges is a lot of hard work. Jodie was there in every step of the process with us and was always able to provide advice and info. My boys have received more college acceptances and they feel fantastic.”
